Srinagar, Mar 03 (KNO): Army’s Northern Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma reviewed evolving security situation in Kashmir on Tuesday.
According to the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Northern Army Commander chaired a high level meeting in Srinagar. “He engaged with formation commanders and representatives of sister agencies to deliberate on the prevailing security situation,” said an official.
Lieutenant General Sharma reiterated that the Northern Command remains resolute in its commitment to ensure safety & security of citizens of Jammu and Kashmir.
Pertinently, armed forces are on high alert in the wake of recent US and Israeli attacks on Iran, which led to the killing of Iran’s Supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday. The attack led to Iran hitting Israel and the US bases in Middle East countries, including UAE and Saudi Arabia. The situation is tense as US and Israel continue to pound Iran. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also issued a nationwide security alert to all states and Union Territories, warning of possible violence and sporadic protests in the wake of recent geo-political scenario—(KNO)
